Mahashivratri is one of the largest and most significant sacred festivals of India. According to Hindu mythology, Mahashivratri translates to the Great Night of Shiva because it is the night when Mahadev performs his heavenly dance known as the Tandav. It is also said to be the day that marks the marriage of Mahadev and Devi Parvati. This year the festival will take place on March 1st. To commensurate Mahashivratri celebrations, India Forums got in touch with few actors and asked them about their thoughts on the festival.
In a candid conversation with us, Zee TV actors Karanvir Sharma and Tanisha Mehta shared their thoughts on the sacred festival of Mahashivratri.
Karanvir Sharma, who essays the role of Haider in Zee TV’s Rabb Se Hai Dua mentioned, “On the occasion of Mahashivratri, I want to give my best wishes to everyone. I would like to request all, that after worshipping Lord Shiva, please do help the needy and poor people, it doesn’t have to be something big, it can be as simple as providing a meal. I am a very big devotee of Lord Shiva, the ultimate. Lord Shiva is always amongst us, around us, and above us. This day, every year, I visit lord Shiva’s temple and do my bit by helping the impoverished people. I hope that everyone’s prayer gets fulfilled and may the destroyer alleviate everyone’s sufferings and Hardship. Happy Mahashivratri. Har Har Mahadev!”

Tanisha Mehta who essays the role of Ishani Kulkarni in Zee TV’s Lag Ja Gale mentioned, “I have always been an ardent devotee of Lord Shiva, and I believe in the positive energy that worshipping him gives to us. Since my childhood, I have witnessed my mother keeping fast on this day every year and making delicious prasad for the same. Her faith in Lord Shiva has helped her go forward in her life optimistically. On this auspicious occasion of Mahashivratri, I wish that may Lord Shiva bless us all with peace and happiness and guide us all on the path of righteousness.”
Team India Forums would like to wish all the readers a very Happy Mahashivratri.
