'Maha episode of Fear Files that I did was turning point of my life'

The talented actress Nehaa Mehta who rose to fame with the character of Parvati in Ekta Kapoor's Balaji Telefilms mythological show Kahaani Humaaray Mahaabhaarat Ki, is soon going to be seen in a movie. On the same we got in touch with Nehha Mehtta to know about her journey in this industry so far, about her upcoming movie and much more.

Here it is what she said...

About her journey in this industry, Nehaa shares "I always wanted to become an actor since childhood. My parents too supported me for the same but they wanted me to focus on my studies. During my 10^th board exams I got a call for the audition of the Balaji Telefilms show Kahaani Humaaray Mahaabhaarat Ki. Along with my studies I also gave the audition for the show."

She auditioned for the role of Draupadi but was chosen to play the role of Parvati in her first show says Nehaa, "I started my career with the show Kahaani Humaaray Mahaabhaarat Ki, where I portrayed the character of Parvati. Initially, I gave the audition for the character of Draupadi but I was chosen to play Parvati. I was not very much confident to play the role of Parvati but eventually it came into my way and I had to take it up. But after taking up that role, I was very happy as I enjoyed portraying it."

She says that after doing a mythological show, she was being typecast and she did not like it, "After that there was news in the media that I have quit television. Well, I will never quit television. After the show Kahaani Humaaray Mahaabhaarat Ki, I totally focused on my studies. Also meanwhile I did not get any interesting offers. After doing a mythological show, I was being typecast which I did not like, so I did not take up the roles that came my way."

The Maha episode of Fear Files was a turning point in her life, she says "Then the shows Haunted Nights and Fear Files came my way and I was very happy as they were different and very interesting. I featured in Fear Files Maha episode. That episode was a turning point in my life. I started getting a lot of offers after that, out of which I took up a movie."

About her movie she shares, "My movie's name is 'Model' and it is all set to release early next year. I am looking forward to the release of my debut movie. I did not think that so early I would get a movie and I find myself lucky. Looking at my pictures itself the casting director chose me, I did not even have to give any audition for it, it was just followed by a look test and that's it."

The ongoing daily soaps that she loves watching on television, "I like the ongoing show Kehta Hai Dil... Jee Lee Zara very much. It is a family drama but does not have any rona-dhona and that is the best part of it. Also the story line is very interesting. I have always been a fan of Sangeeta Ghosh and she is doing a fabulous job in this show too and so is my friend Ruslaan Mumtaaz. Also the the mythological show Jodha Akbar is fantastic."
