Sanjay Leela Bhansali's magnum opus "Padmavati" starring Deepika Padukone, Ranveer Singh and Shahid Kapoor in the lead role has been postponed due to its controversies following the threats, protest and CBFC's mess.
Earlier the film was slated to release on December 1, 2017. However, due to multiple reasons and messed up situation it was recently reported by the makers of pushing the release date ahead.
While the film has been suffering the loss since the team started shooting for it. But, looks like it will be a gain for Kapil Sharma's film, "Firangi". The makers are said to have to look to shift their release date from November 24 to December 1.
A source told a leading daily, "The film has been sent to the CBFC (Central Board Of Film Certification), but it has not been certified yet. The certification might happen today. In that case, the film will stick to its original release date (November 24). But now that Padmavati has moved, the producers are also thinking about taking up the vacant December 1 slot."
The source added, "Along with that, Firangi will have two weeks' run before Fukrey 2 releases. That will boost the film's collections as there's no other film to compete with. The film will get a good breathing space."
If the makers are successful in shifting the date then Kapil will be having the opportunity to promote the film more as he had to cancel some interviews due to his ill health.
A source then informed the daily, "Kapil's issues aren't just about his physical well-being. He's trying to battle a lot of other things within."
