Television show producers are always on the hunt for casting fresh faces in their upcoming serials.

Trilogy Media, helmed by Ila Bedi Dutta has introduced a new face Ankita Sharma as the protagonist of her show Lajwanti (Zee TV) which hits the screens tonight but also another negative lead, Tony Singh who will send jitters with his magnificent acting skills, physique and in the style he mouths his dialogues!

Now firstly, our ardent readers might want to know who Tony Singh is?

The Mumbai lad went on to study Hotel Management in England and worked as a Hotel manager in a bar there. Not quite content with his artistic abilities, Tony then went on to pursue another career prospect. Having worked as an RJ in London for 6 and a half years, the handsome man has now made his way into acting.

Now comes in a question, why acting? Let's hear it from Tony himself.

The debutant said, "Well, acting was not a conscious decision. I was famous in London because I can speak fluent English, Hindi and Urdu which not many NRI's or residents settled abroad can.  The viewers will be amazed to watch me speak so fluently and the only reason is because I never tried to become an NRI. My accent and my command over my mother tongue is my pride! My station master had some links in this industry and it is because of him that I came here, meet people and things worked out the way I planned to."

Tony will essay the role of Sikka, who is madly in love with Lajwanti right from childhood. But with the heroic deeds of the male protagonist (Sid Makkar), his sweet dream of marrying his soul mate gets tarnished. Hence would begin another tale of revenge behind the backdrop of the partition.

The actor added, "I feel blessed to have bagged the character of Sikka, who is an extremist by nature. His love is intense and so is his revenge. To do justice to a powerful negative role is a challenge and if the viewers like the way I justify my character, I am sure this industry will open more doors for my acting career to prosper."

Given the fact that Tony Singh is an RJ, we went to ask him about his plans in this field.

He quipped, "I would not mind being an RJ too! I am open to anything which keeps my creativity level high."

Tony, we wish you luck with you debut show Lajwanti!

..."I never tried to become an NRI"- yeah, NRIs are all uncultured. Anyway, good luck to you. Let's hope the show shows mutual respect for both India and Pakistan but going by the first few minutes of Episode 1- probably not.
