BollyCurry is back, bringing to you a brand new hatke weekly feature! This time, it's the Trend of the Week, a ply to keep you up to date with what's hot in B-town!
Many
attempts are made in making a video of a song stand out from the crowd
of other songs. Sometimes colour is added, sometimes it's reduced and
sometimes, unusual lyrics are added. But how about the addition of
lyrics on screen?
This week, BollyCurry is
focusing on the rising trend of picturising the lyrics of a song, making
them appear on the screen as part of the music video.
Without further ado ...
Switty Switty from Delhi Belly
A promotional song where the three leads of the movie dress up as typical gangsters, the words "Switty Switty" show up frequently on the screen, as well as other lyrics from the chorus such as "Tera Pyar". A larger than life lighted cut-out of the word "Switty" can also be seen in the background.
Laung da lashkara from Patiala House
A fun number starring all the cast in traditional desi attire, rap queen Hard Kaur makes a guest appearance the song. Her lyrics, such as "this is something special", "Paaji", "Parjayia" can be seen in the beginning of the song, whilst "oh baby" and "patial vi" appear whenever Jasbir Jassir vocalises.
Chatte Batte from Chillar Party
Picturised on the extremely cute and young heroes of the movie, the video sees enjoyable childish lyrics from the chorus such as "meethe", "khatte", "chatte" and "batte" pop up colourfully on the screen.
Zor Ka Jhatka from Action Replayy
Also another promotional video starring all the actors, the words "this" and "that" appear right at the beginning of the song whilst Hard Kaur raps away in the background. Other words such as "rewind your life", "disco", and "70's ishtyle" are also displayed during the course of the video.
Adhoore from Break Ke Baad
A fun video on the leads portraying the madness of their daily lives, words from the chorus such as "adhoore tum", "adhoore hum" and "bin tumhare" can frequently be read throughout the video.
Party Abhi Baki Hai from F.A.L.T.U
A peppy number with undeniably fun lyrics and successfully composed to make you dance, this energetic song is of four friends just enjoying life. The video is riddled with bright words from the lyrics such as "the party begins", "gotta keep it movin", "party still on" amongst much more.
Accha Lagta Hai from Aarakshan
A song from the upcoming Aarakshan,
this melodious tune has already done the music circuits, climbing the
chart steadily. As cute as the video is, one can't deny that the
appearance of "accha lagta hai" every time Mohit Chauhan croons it
doesn't have a pleasing effect.
That's all from us, folks. Join us again next week where we will put forth to you another "hot" trend from Tinsel Town. Meanwhile, are there any other songs you can think of?
