Rachel Shelley, the talented actress who captivated audiences with her portrayal of Elizabeth Russell in the Aamir Khan starrer 'Lagaan', is making a comeback in Indian entertainment. Years after her notable performance in the iconic film, Rachel has now joined the cast of the upcoming series 'Kohrra', alongside Barun Sobti, Suvinder Vicky, Varun Badola, and Harleen Sethi.

'Kohrra' is an investigative drama that revolves around the mysterious death of an NRI just before his wedding. In this intriguing series, Rachel Shelley takes on one of the lead roles, adding her brilliance to an already star-studded ensemble.

The show's creator, Sudip Sharma, explained that Rachel's casting was a practical choice, as they aimed to avoid the cliché of hiring a white actor based in Mumbai. Sharma also praised Rachel's previous work in 'Lagaan', stating that her experience in the Indian film industry made her an ideal fit for the show, as she understood the unique "madness" of working in the Indian entertainment industry.

Written and directed by Ashutosh Gowariker, 'Lagaan' remains a cinematic masterpiece. The film, released in 2001, featured Rachel Shelley as the British officer's sister, Elizabeth Russell. Her performance in 'Lagaan' left a lasting impact on viewers, as she portrayed a character who not only taught the villagers the game of cricket but also experienced a heartfelt love story with Aamir Khan's character.

As Rachel Shelley embarks on her new journey with 'Kohrra', fans eagerly await the series and anticipate her remarkable performance once again.
