Filmmaker and Bollywood's daddy cool recently celebrated the second birthday of his twins, Yash Johar and Roohi Johar, in Mumbai and it was attended by the who's who of tinseltown. Ever since the two munchkins were born via surrogacy, Karan has opened up time and again on how parenthood has changed his life and he is not only the father, but a mother to his children as well.
Interestingly KJo, during an interview with Film Companion, was asked by his mom Hiroo Johar during a segment as to what is the most difficult thing being a single parent. To which he replied, "Being a single parent is really daunting and scary. Because I think it takes a mother and a father to complete the upbringing of a child. In many ways you could say that having Yash and Roohi is full of love but it is also a selfish decision. It is because I want that love for myself. There was a large empty space in my life that needed to be filled by children."
Further revealing how he is co-parenting his kids with his mother, Karan added, "Oddly, they call me dad and call my mom 'mama'. They don't call her daadi. Because I feel we are co-parenting them. So I am trying very hard that both of us fulfil the roles of mother and a father completely."

And also make sure that they do the right thing because I have grown up very strongly with a very strong sense of right and wrong by my parents. And I want to inculcate that in Yash and Roohi."
Isn't that just endearing?
Work wise, Karan will next be directing Takht, which features an ensemble cast including Kareena Kapoor Khan, Anil Kapoor, Alia Bhatt, Vicky Kaushal, Ranveer Singh, Bhumi Pednekar and Janhvi Kapoor.
