Telly stars share their sequence of Karwa Chauth in their shows...

Till date, we have seen many of the leading ladies on television going thro the Karwa Chauth festivity with all pomp and excitement!! Many popular shows on
television have presented us with Pativratha
Patnis who have genuinely kept Karwa
Chauth vrat for their onscreen patis.
Tellybuzz goes down the memory lane, chooses few leading ladies of popular shows of the past and chats with them on their Karwa Chauth experience while shooting for their shows...Some of them in fact, go a step ahead and compare it with their real Karwa Chauth experience too..
Shubhangi Aatre: (Kasturi of 'Kasturi')
Shooting for such a sequence is always fun, because off camera we are fed well and on camera we act as though we are fasting. But in real life the experience is great when I fast for my husband; I used to keep it with my mother because she does it in the typical Punjabi style. And every year it is one of the most special days for me as my husband also keeps the
vrat for me.
Rajshri Thakur Vaidya: (Saloni of 'Saath Phere')
Doing such a sequence onscreen has always given a weird feeling as we have to act like we are fasting and performing all the rituals, where in reality we are filling up our stomach and doing the sequence. In real I don't keep Karwa chauth as we are Maharashtrians, but I fast for Vata Poornima. I like such festivals, but the worst part is my husband doesn't fast for me (laughs).
Additi Gupta: (Heer of 'Kis Desh Mein Hain Meraa Dil' and Pihu of 'Sanjog Se Bani Sangini')
I have an interesting memory of Karwa Chaut when I was in college, when I had kept
vrat for my boyfriend even though he stopped me from doing so. But I was so adamant that I wanted to fast. In the morning I saw everyone having food, but I didn't care because I was certain of fasting, but after reaching college the scene turned upside down. During lunch break I was really hungry and literally blanked out, and couldn't think of anything else other than food. I called up my boyfriend and said I might break the fast and he said it was ok. Finally, I did break the fast.
Panchi Bohra: (Prachi of 'Kayamath')
I have done two Karwa Chauth sequences, one in which Shabbir doesn't like me and the other one, after he falls in love with me. Both the sequences were interesting to shoot because I had to really act as though I am going to faint. Also wearing heavy saris and jewellery was also another interesting part because I have seen my friends keeping
vrat and they used to do a lot of shopping for the day and go to parlours. They also boast about the gifts they received (laughs). In real life I have not fasted, but after marriage I am looking forward for it and my husband will have to fast along with me.
Aastha Chaoudary: (Aastha of 'Baabul Ka Aangan Chootey Na' and Rewa of 'Aise Karo Naa Vidaa')
I have done two sequences of Karwa Chauth, one in Baabul Ka Angan Chootey Na and the other one in ShhPhir Hoi Hain. Since my family follows Arya Samaj, we do not perform any religious rituals as such and we don't even light the lamp. When I was doing Baabul, the promo was based on Karwa Chauth and I felt very nice doing something like that for the first time. During Shh.. Phir Koi Hain, my crew members used to make fun of me as I didn't know the step by step way to do it. Even though we never do it, I have seen my neighbours performing the rituals. And now I really like such rituals, especially after doing such shows, and I would definitely do it after my marriage and of course, my husband should also fast along with me.
Sanjeeda Shaikh: (Nimmo of 'Kya Hoga Nimmo Ka', and Ayesha in Kayamath)
I have done several Karwa Chauth scenes in the shows that I did and it was really interesting to do such a sequence as being a Muslim, I never did that. The Karwa Chauth scenes in Kayamat and Jaane Pehchane Se Yeh Ajnabi were more of a comedy sequence because both Shabbir and Siddharth are brats and both of them always used to make fun of the channi. I have also done a Karwa Chauth sequence with Aamir in Kya Dil Main Hai and that was the most romantic one. In real, even though I don't mind fasting for the fest, I have not kept vrat till now.
Shooting Karwa Chauth sequences have always been grand in our telly industry and this time too we will get to see the fest in its well designed manner. Let us wait and watch for the fest this season.
