Mudassar Aziz, the director behind the 2019 hit Pati Patni Aur Woh, has confirmed that a sequel is in the works. In a recent interview with the Indian Express, Aziz shared exciting details about his next directorial project, which will continue the humorous exploration of relationships that made the first film a box office success.

Aziz revealed that the sequel will offer a fresh and interesting perspective, particularly from a woman's standpoint. "I will provide a very interesting perspective from a woman's standpoint and a lot of laughs," he said, hinting at the new direction the story will take. While the script is still being finalized, Aziz assured fans that the sequel will not be a typical, formulaic continuation. Instead, it will bring something new to the table, maintaining the essence of the original while introducing unique elements.

The first Pati Patni Aur Woh film, released in December 2019, was a remake of the 1978 classic of the same name. It starred Kartik Aaryan in the lead role, with Bhumi Pednekar and Ananya Panday as the female leads.

The film struck a chord with audiences, becoming a commercial success with a worldwide gross of Rs 118 crore. The story revolved around a man caught in a humorous web of lies, juggling the complexities of married life and an extramarital affair, which kept the audience laughing from start to finish.

As for the sequel, Aziz has not yet confirmed the final cast, leaving fans curious about whether Bhumi Pednekar and Ananya Panday will reprise their roles. The director mentioned that while he enjoys creating sequels, he doesn't focus on turning his films into franchises.

In addition to discussing the upcoming sequel, Aziz reflected on his recent film Khel Khel Mein, which was released on 15 August. Despite featuring an ensemble cast including Akshay Kumar, Vaani Kapoor, Fardeen Khan, and Ammy Virk, the film garnered positive reviews but did not perform well at the box office.

With Pati Patni Aur Woh being such a significant success, anticipation for the sequel is high, and fans eagerly await further announcements regarding the cast and production details.
