Kartik Aaryan gets onboard with Anurag Basu for 'Aashiqui 3'

Actor Kartik Aaryan has been talk of the town since the release of his last film Bhool Bhulaiya 2. The film was a huge success at the box office. Well now there is no time for the actor to rest as he has already signed up for the Bollywood sequel ‘Aashiqui 3’! 

Numerous Bollywood giants have been linked to this eagerly anticipated movie for a while now, but it appears that hitmaker Kartik has finally landed the part. Anurag Basu will direct the third installment, although no information has yet been released regarding the film's starring lady. 

Kartik took to his social media account and shared the news. He also shared a motion poster of the film. Talking about Aashiqui 3, Kartik Aaryan expressed his joy and told Variety: “The timeless classic ‘Aashiqui’ is something I grew up watching and working on ‘Aashiqui 3’ is like a dream come true. I feel privileged yet grateful collaborating with Bhushan Kumar and Mukesh Bhatt for this opportunity. I’ve been a big fan of Anurag Basu’s work and collaborating with him on this one will definitely shape me in many ways.” 

For the unversed, Rahul Roy and Anu Aggarwal starrer ‘Aashiqui’ released in 1990 and was helmed by Mahesh Bhatt. The film was a huge success and its songs continue to rule hearts. In 2013, the franchise was followed up with Mohit Suri helmed ‘Aashiqui 2’ starring Shraddha Kapoor and Aditya Roy Kapur. 

Talking on the workfront, Kartik Aaryan recently started shooting for another romantic outing, ‘Satyaprem Ki Katha’, co-starring Kiara Advani. He also has ‘Shehzada’, 'Freddy' and ‘Captain India’ in the pipeline.
