Kareena Kapoor Khan has been one of the most talented and vibrant actresses in the industry. Currently busy promoting her film, 'The Buckingham Murders, ' which has hit the theatres today, the actress has also marked 25 years in the industry. Her prolific trajectory of films and performances and the way she has evolved as an actor only makes her positioned as a veteran now. In a recent interview with Harpers Bazar, Kareena shed light on her journey in this industry, how she feels things have evolved and how she is coping with the changes, on the battle between acting and producing as she made her production debut this year with 'The Buckingham Murders'.
Kareena Kapoor Khan reflects on the significant changes she has witnessed over her 24-year journey in the film industry. While she acknowledges the evolution in many aspects, she believes there's still a need to prioritize content and storytelling. “We should focus more on our scriptwriters, language, dialogue, and dialect—all these elements need greater emphasis,” she says. According to Kareena, although the industry has developed in terms of having agents, managers, and a highly structured system, some elements seem superficial. "There’s this entire PR machinery that often seems to dictate who’s the latest global icon based on the success of their films. But, honestly, these are just fleeting names and trends that change weekly," she adds.

She expresses a desire for a stronger focus on storytelling and scriptwriting, hoping that the success of meaningful films at the box office will lead to a renewed emphasis on content that resonates deeply with audiences.
Talking about her decision to produce 'The Buckingham Murders', Bebo said, "This film wasn’t made with commercial success in mind; it’s driven by passion.” However, Kareena emphasised about not being sure if she would want to continue her role as a producer in the industry. “If I were to do so, it would probably be another crime series, as that’s where my true interests lie. I’m more inclined toward deep, engaging content rather than typical commercial fare,” she exclaims.
The film 'The Buckingham Murders' is helmed by Hansal Mehta and is produced by Kareena Kapoor Khan, Shobha Kapoor and Ekta Kapoor.
