Most of the time we get to hear that the director doesn't want an actor to play the character so he replaces him with some other actor, but, this time it's the opposite.
Bollywood's Queen, Kangana Ranaut who was gearing up for her next, a biopic on Rani Laxmi Bai, was supposed to shoot for the poster of the film on her birthday that is March 23.
However, even before the first shoot could take off, there are reports that Kangana has replaced the original director with a new one.
Ketan Mehta who was going to direct the film has been replaced by Krish who is a known name in the Telugu industry. He has earlier directed Akshay Kumar's 'Gabbar Is Back' and will now helm this project.
'Manikarnika' is the title of the film as it is the birth name of Rani Laxmi. KV Vijayendra Prasad, father of S. S. Rajamouli has written the story of the film.
A source was quoted saying, "The new film will be helmed by a fresh team. A top studio, too, has agreed to back the venture, which is envisioned as an action-packed, feisty film. It is the biopic of an ordinary girl, who when faced with tough times, discovered the warrior in her. The film will go on floors in mid-May." (sic)
Sadly, the biopic on Rani Laxmi bai was Ketan's dream as he was prepping up for the same since years. Earlier he brought Sushmita Sen aboard for the film however, it didn't work as planned and the next was Kangana Ranaut. But it's no more his project now!
