Kajol pens heartfelt note for mom Tanuja: I will always be your first lieutenant

Actress Tanuja Mukherjee, one of the most iconic actresses of her era, is celebrating her birthday today. On Friday, her daughter and actress Kajol took to social media to wish her mom on her birthday. She released a special video with footage from Tanuja's flicks over the years. She used Asha Bhosle's song 'Raat Akeli Hai' as the background of the video.

Kajol wrote a lengthy personal letter thanking her mother for "making her a thoughtful responsible caring adult." 

Taking to her Instagram account the Tanhaji actress wrote, 

"She’s completed 70 odd years in the movies and 48 as my mother .. through this entire journey never once did I feel anything but safe and loved.. so many trials and yet she discussed everything that makes a life worth living with us. From death to compassion to charity to anger bitterness love and forgiveness. Like she says “ if I keep telling u these things then one day they will take root when u need them most “… 

She further thanked her for teaching to soar higher, 

"and I thank u every day for making me a thinking responsible feeling adult.. u taught us to soar not by throwing us off the cliff but by flying off it yourself and letting us watch u soar unafraid. I will always be ur first lieutenant and commander of ur armies and you will always be my captain and my queen.. love u to the moon and back mom. #tanuja."

For the unversed, Tanuja is celebrating her birthday with her younger daughter Tanishaa Mukerji in the Himalayas. She shared pictures and videos with her mom while enjoying their trip.

Also, Ajay Devgn also took to his Instagram story and wished his mother-in-law by sharing a beautiful picture.

On the work front, Tanuja recently was seen with Pratik Gandhi in Hansal Mehta’s 'Baai', one of the short films in 'Modern Love Mumbai'.
