Bollywood legend Kajol has dazzled audiences with numerous successful films, while her sister Tanishaa entered the industry with her debut in Sssshhh in 2003. Recently, the TDo Patti actress openly discussed a previous rift between them, noting that they have since reconciled. She highlighted that the disagreement didn’t have a major effect on their bond.
In a recent conversation with News 18, Kajol discussed a time when her relationship with her sister, Tanishaa Mukerji, encountered difficulties. She recognized that working in the same industry often leads to comparisons, and external pressures can inadvertently foster a rivalry between siblings.
She said, “I would say that yes, it did happen at some point, definitely. But we sorted it out. It was momentary. It wasn’t something that worked too much against us. Tanishaa is in the movies and is doing films. So, that was there but it’s not there anymore.”
Previously, in a chat with Siddharth Kannan, Tanishaa revealed that Kajol decided against watching Neal 'n' Nikki because of the many kissing scenes between her and Uday Chopra, who was her boyfriend at the time.
She reflected on the film's themes, acknowledging that it contained a significant amount of on-screen affection, which prompted Kajol to avoid watching it entirely. Tanishaa even mentioned how she advises the children of her friends to wait until they're older to see it, recognizing the conservative views that still exist in their culture.
Looking back, she shared that if Neal 'n' Nikki were offered to her now, she would approach the role differently, considering the influence it might have on younger viewers.
When talking about her on-screen kisses with Uday Chopra, Tanishaa explained that her familiarity with him made the experience comfortable. She pointed out that they started dating during the film's shoot, which made the intimate scenes feel more genuine, as it was akin to sharing those moments with her boyfriend.
In a separate conversation with Indian Express, Kajol discussed her perspective on social media and online criticism. She expressed appreciation for having spent most of her life without it, only rejoining six years ago.
She emphasized that social media only captures a small slice of reality, like a glamorous red carpet photo, while overlooking the hard work and fatigue that occur behind the scenes. Kajol added that everyone experiences good and bad days, but only the happy moments are shared online, creating a distorted perception of their lives.
