As we are all set to bid adieu to 2016, the year has truly proved to be one where content was celebrated, with Kahaani 2 : Durga Rani Singh adding to the list.

While Kahaani went on to become the sleeper hit of 2012 and created a benchmark within the thriller genre, Sujoy Ghosh reunites with his muse Vidya Balan for the second installment of the film.

The film which released nationwide across 1235 screens on Dec 2nd, opened to an encouraging response on the release weekend and continues to go steady at the box office,despite belonging to a genre which caters to a niche audience.

With a 10-day collection amounting to an approximate 29.11 cr NBOC , the drama thriller continues to enthrall audiences,standing up against a big ticket release by a studio .

Durga Rani Singh is showing a steady trend at the box office ,despite a drop in screens i.e 825 screens thanks to the excellent reviews and positive word-of-mouth.

Apart from having audiences at the edge of their seats , the film also touched upon a sensitive topic like child abuse and addressed it in a respectful manner.

The film started a social conversation on child abuse with several patrons and families reaching out to lead Vidya Balan and director Sujoy Ghosh over social platforms and lauding them for their courage at attempting to bring about a change through their cinema.

Produced by Kushal Kantilal Gada, Dhaval Jayantilal Gada, Aksshay Jayantilal Gada and Sujoy Ghosh, Kahaani 2 starring Vidya Balan and Arjun Rampal released nationwide Dec 2nd.
