A decade ago, Shahid Kapoor showcased his acting range in Vishal Bharadwaj's Kaminey (2009), breaking free from his image as Bollywood's chocolate boy. Since then, he has taken on challenging roles in films like Haider (2014) and Udta Punjab (2016).
Now, with his portrayal of a volatile surgeon in Sandeep Reddy Vanga's Kabir Singh, Shahid is enjoying significant box office success.
In a recent interview, when asked if Kabir Singh represents Shahid's best work, director Sandeep Vanga expressed his preference for Kaminey. He remarked, “I loved Kaminey. I believe he performed better in Kaminey than in Kabir Singh. I’m not sure if I’m supposed to say that, but that’s how I feel.”
Shahid Kapoor is gearing up for Deva now. Alongside Deva, he is gearing up for another major project, Ashwatthama: The Saga Continues. Directed by Sachin Ravi, the film delves into the legendary tale of the immortal warrior Ashwatthama from the Mahabharata. Fans are eagerly anticipating Shahid’s return to the big screen in these exciting roles, with Deva set to release in February 2025.
