Jiah Khan Suicide Case: Sooraj Pancholi awaits fate as verdict on April 28 will happen at 10.30

The Jiah Khan suicide case has been highly publicized and controversial since the young actress was found hanging from the ceiling in her Mumbai apartment on June 3, 2013. The case has revolved around her tumultuous relationship with actor Sooraj Pancholi, who was booked for abetment of suicide and subsequently arrested by the Mumbai police. Pancholi was released on bail on July 1, 2013, by the Bombay High Court.

Jiah's mother, Rabia Khan, has been fighting for justice for her daughter since the beginning of the case. According to the Pancholi family member, who requested anonymity to avoid influencing the court or the verdict, “Going by the merits of the case, the entire family is positive.”  While a report from Instant Bollywood stated that, the arguments in the case concluded on 20th April and the verdict will finally be out on April 28 by 10:30 am allegedly.

For the unversed, In December 2015, the CBI charged Pancholi with abetment of suicide under Section 306 of the Indian Penal Code, and the trial has been ongoing for several years. In January 2023, Pancholi's lawyer sought to expedite the problem by summoning the remaining witnesses, arguing that the delay in the trial was causing hardship to Pancholi.

Rabia also applied to the particular judge seeking the recall of two witnesses, which the CBI opposed. The judgment will determine whether Pancholi will be found guilty of abetment of suicide or acquitted. The case has garnered significant media attention and is eagerly awaited by many, including Jiah's family and supporters.
