Diwali 2024 is set for an exciting box office showdown with the releases of Singham Again and Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3. Ajay Devgn returns as the fierce Bajirao Singham, while Kartik Aaryan takes on the role of Rooh Baba in this horror comedy. However, both films will not be screened in Saudi Arabia due to controversial content.
According to exclusive reports from Pinkvilla, Singham Again has been banned in Saudi Arabia due to its depiction of "religious conflict," specifically the Hindu-Muslim tensions portrayed in the film. This decision follows the unveiling of the trailer on October 7, 2024, which hinted at connections to the Hindu epic Ramayan.
Similarly, Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3 has faced a ban in the country because of homosexual references involving Kartik Aaryan's character, as confirmed by our sources. The trailer for this film was released shortly after on October 9, 2024.
Singham Again marks the fifth installment in Rohit Shetty's Cop Universe and serves as a sequel to Singham Returns (2014). Ajay Devgn reprises his role as DCP Bajirao Singham, while Kareena Kapoor stars as his on-screen wife, Avni Kamat, who is kidnapped by Arjun Kapoor's character, Danger Lanka. The film also features a star-studded cast, including Ranveer Singh, Deepika Padukone, Akshay Kumar, Tiger Shroff, and Jackie Shroff.
On the other hand, Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3, directed by Anees Bazmee, is the third entry in its franchise. Kartik Aaryan stars alongside Triptii Dimri, with Vidya Balan and Madhuri Dixit also taking on significant roles.
Both films are set to release in India and other global markets on November 1, 2024, though audiences in Saudi Arabia will miss out.
