JD Majethia Thinks It's inappropriate to say that Season 2 of 'Khichdi' didn't do well

Among the list of any shows returning to TV, both the popular shows - 'Khichdi' and 'Sarabhai vs Sarabhai' will rerun for television audiences from April 13. While 'Khichdi' first aired in 2002, its second season was brought back for viewers in 2018. Similarly, Sarabhai vs Sarabhai aired in 2004 and a second season was released in 2017.

Producer JD Majethia was asked if the second season of both the shows connected with audiences like the first season and Majethia said, "Sarabhai vs Sarabhai' and Khichdi registered a great connect with masses on their respective platforms even though a cricket league was also going on during that time. So it would not be appropriate to say that they did not find a connect with masses."

He continued "Also, people used to wait and plan to watch these shows even later after they have aired with their friends and family. In fact, even now people want to watch those shows again and therefore, due to popular demand now they are being rerun during the lockdown situation."

Majethia also said "We wanted to make more seasons of the show but due to unavailability of actors and other commitments, we could not go ahead. If the shows did not do well in the second season, then we would not have been rerunning them for audiences now. But, we do plan to make new seasons and come back with fresher episodes."
