"I was typecast in a mother’s role very early in life," says actress Geeta Bisht.

Actress Geeta Bisht, who is a popular name in the entertainment industry, has usually been seen in motherly roles. Currently, the actress is seen playing the role of mother in the show Mann Sundar. She is currently  in buzz for essaying the role of 'Gayatri Chauhan' in the Hotstar web show 'Aashiqana.'

Recently, Geeta revealed that she feels typecast. The actress says that she is hardly offered roles which are not motherly. Commenting on the same, Geeta says,"People told me that in television you get typecast so easily, once you do a role you'll get similar roles in your career. I never realised that I got typecast for playing motherly roles. I remember that I didn't even reach the certain age of playing a mother. But I believe that 'work is work' and you can't be choosy about playing characters."

Geeta further adds,"Acting is my job. It’s what I like to do. It doesn't matter if it's a 'maa bhen ka role'. But I feel that actors should be given a chance to break the barrier because playing the same kind of role back to back, won't do anything good for the actor. We must be given a chance to reinvent ourselves."
