I have been working on Lajwanti from 15 years - Ila Bedi

With Ila Bedi Dutta bringing in a new wave in the way television has been viewed so far with Lajwanti on Zee TV. We speak to her about her idea on penning down the show, how the concept sparked and her expectations from the show.

Ila said, "This project was penned down by my late grandfather and famous writer Ravinder Singh Bedi. I was working on the project since the last 15 years. I first wished to pen this story in a movie but it was difficult to incorporate minute details in the story and if that was not included, the story wouldn't come across beautifully.  I never thought that this kind of content would ever stand a chance to be transformed into a show but it's happening and it is a proud moment for Bedi family."

Speaking about the show, the producer elaborated, "We won't take viewers back to that pain of partition but showcase a beautiful love story of Lajwanti and Sundarlal. The show is contemporary in its stone and I could not have asked for a better lead pair than Sid Makkar and Ankita Sharma."
