India Forums got in touch with ‘Imlie’ actress Seerat Kapoor who plays the role of Cheeni wherein she opened up on joining the industry, staying fit and more. Have a look at the interview below:

If not an actor what would you have been?

Anything that involves creativity interests me a lot. I love planning, scheduling and managing too. So, maybe I would've been into event management or marketing. New ideas and projects excite me a lot so definitely would've been in the creative industry.

How did acting happen to you?

I have been watching TV since I was able to understand anything. I used to sit with my grandparents and watch every show on TV very ardently. Deep down somewhere, I knew I wanted to be that perfect girl who everyone loves in these shows. Even though it became a possibility only when my Dad, who is also an actor now, left his job in the corporate world and started his acting career at the age of 40.

What’s next for you?

I am really looking forward to what more I can do in this industry. I want to just work as much as I can. I am not the kind of person who wants to be a star and at the top of the game. I just want to do good work, be it in TV shows, webseries or films.

How does it feeling to see yourself fulfilling your dreams?

It is a blessing to say the least. As an actor, I always just wanted people to like what I do. This is what drives me to do better. All I ever want is that people connect and resonate with my characters and that's what's happening which is a dream come true.

How has life changed for you since ‘Imlie’?

It has been five months already but it still doesn't feel real. When someone comes up to me saying they like my work, I literally become speechless. Honestly, it's all very surreal and I believe it should stay that way. Shahrukh Khan ones said ' I am not Shah Rukh Khan; I am just a guy representing this magnificent image of SRK that people have created '. It's something that really keeps me grounded.

Are you open to OTT and films?

As I said, I am open to all kinds of good work. I will take up anything that excites me regardless of what medium it is for. The content, the character, the people I will work with are some of the factors that I would consider not the medium.

Are you a fitness oriented person and how do you manage to stay fit?

Honestly I was not a fitness oriented person before entering this industry. Now that I have I realized that staying fit is not just important because you have to look a certain way, it's way deeper than that. You can work and live better if you are fit and it is directly related to your mental health believe it or not. You will be able to balance your life better if you are fit. I try my best to do as much as I can in the morning. I am currently doing Yoga. I also try to keep my body moving during the day and just not sitting or standing still for a long time. Most importantly I have a very balanced diet.

Any parting messages

I believe in this saying that 'Anything can happen tomorrow, so whenever stuck, just think what you would do if today was your last day on earth'. I'd want everyone to follow this as it will only ensure a happy space for everyone (smiles).
