I am a workaholic so I can't live without work: Ridhi Dogra Vashishth

The pretty and talented actress Ridhi Dogra Vashisth who was last seen as Priya in Star Plus' Maryaada Lekin Kab Tak? is all set to make her come back to television as Savitri on Life OK. Tellybuzz spoke to Ridhi about her feeling on being back on TV, her interests, and more…

I got married during Maryada so never got a chance to enjoy a married or a home life. I didn't get a chance to do  things which a normal housewife does. I spent a lot of time with myself and learnt new skills too. I took up dancing and a lot of such things which I missed doing during Maryada. We had two pets when we got married and after Maryada we adopted one more pet. So, I was enjoying life and learning too.

How are you feeling about getting back on television?

It feels great because an actor gets addicted to the camera, actions and roles. I am addicted to it and I can't do without it. I am a workaholic so I can't live without work. I am loving the fact that I am back on television and I am doing a very interesting and a different show for television.

I am playing Savitri in the show. The story revolves around a girl who looks out for her missing husband. Why the husband goes missing and how she looks for him is what the story is all about.

It is fun! We have done outdoor shoots in Thailand and now in Kolkata so we have bonded now. I get to meet a lot of new actors. I get to learn from everybody on the sets. There is Yash, Angad, Indrani Ma'am and a lot many actors whom I get to learn from I haven't shot with Indrani Ma'am yet and I am dying to shoot with her again. I cannot wait to share the screen space again after Maryada because I have always enjoyed shooting with her. Angad and Yash Pandit are so much fun and chilled out people to work with. It is nice to have sensible and intelligent actors around you.

Any memory you would like to share from your Maryada days?

I have many sweet memories related to Maryada. Every actor has an unforgettable show of his or her career. For me, Maryada is that show. Each and everyone associated with Maryada cannot forget the show. We are so grateful and thankful of being a part of the show like Maryada. It was fun being together and acting and I have learned so many things during the show. I have got Savitri because of what I have got to learn from Maryada. I am very thankful to Waseem Sir and Vineet Sir. I can't forget that I met Raqesh on the show and I got married to him. I met Indrani ma'am who is like an institution of acting. I have learned how to get involved in a scene and give your best to it. I can never forget what I have learned from the great actors around me.

My last shot of Maryada was a bitter sweet moment for me. Me, Vindhya, Indrani ma'am and Kamya were sitting and shooting for the last shot of the last episode. We were supposed to smile in the scene but none of us could to so. We had tears in our eyes because it was our last episode.

I am interested in dancing and I am very fond of writing and love to read too. I observe things around me and I write on it and I also like to write on real incidents. I love to share my thoughts on Twitter because that's the only medium through which I am connected with my fans. I call Twitter as my virtual diary where I share my thoughts and love to get opinions on the same.

I am a very relaxed out person. I like spending time with my friends and family and don't like to party. I like dressing up for Raqesh to make him feel like he has got a pretty wife otherwise I am like a Jhalli (laughs). I like having intelligent conversations. I am fond of watching films and eating good food too. Oh yes and I love chocolates. I have two cats and one dog at home and I love to be with them. I love to spend time with Raqesh; he is my best friend. I am a very simple girl.

Yes, I follow it and Raqesh is terrific in the show. He is doing a fabulous job and showing different shades of acting. He always tries to do some new and different and is very passionate about his work. He likes to discuss things with me and take my opinion. I have learned a lot from him. He is very natural so I try to take some tips from him. He is not even aware that I have picked up some tips from him while I used to shoot with him (smiles).

I would like to share a funny incident here. I was watching his show few days ago when the romantic track was going on. I saw the episode and sent him a message saying I am getting married again. I am leaving you. Raqesh was shocked and I said, "Yes, I am getting married to Rohan. I have fallen in love with him." He was so romantic in the episode that he made me drool over me. I wonder if I was feeling like this, then how the other girls must be feeling (laughs).

I am thankful that they loved me so much as Priya and they waited so much for me after Maryada. They kept on telling me on Twitter that they want to see me back. It was very touching. I just want to tell them that I am really grateful and happy that they have given so much love in the past. I promise that I will try to give them something different. It's a different show and it's a gift from me to them. I hope they all will enjoy.
