Sony TV;s popular daily soap Patiala Babes has earned its place amongst one of the feel-good light hearted show with an impactful social message. The show is about women empowerment and features Paridhi Sharma, Aniruddha Dave and Ashnoor Kaur in the lead roles. The storyline of the show is about a coy, young and obedient woman whose husband leaves her for another one and her smart daughter supports her to become independent.

Not just the main characters but the supporting characters are loved by viewers too. However, we have a sad news for the fans of the show as actress Hunar Gandhi has walked out of the show. The actress who plays Meeta in the show will soon bid the show goodbye due to creative dissatisfaction. Speaking with Time Of India, the actress shared, “When I accepted the role of Meeta, it wasn’t just about playing the other woman. The character had different shades. She wasn’t a negative person, but somebody who wanted to keep everyone happy. I liked the character because unlike what we see every time, the other woman here was not shown as the vamp. My track began well, but soon there was hardly anything left for me to do on the show. They even wanted me to play a mom but I refused as I did not want to play a mother for this particular role. So, though there was a pregnancy track on the show, I was assured that they will soon bring a miscarriage angle and I would not have to play mom.”

The actress was appalled to know that her character ended suddenly. The makers have planned he r exit as Meeta leaves for London while she is still pregnant. Further talking about it she said, “It was disappointing because I was promised something and what eventually turned out was very different. I never wanted to quit. Just because I told them I don’t want to play a mother, they decided to axe my role overnight. It is so strange that Meeta, who was portrayed as this independent and strong woman, will go back to London like a coward. Anyway, I am happy that I was a part of a show that's inspirational for women. I am thankful to the makers that they offered me this role. TV is a great medium to be a part of, but at times there is no clarity about how your role will shape up in the future. That’s the sad part.”

Yikes. Meeta's character was confusing from the start. Her emotions, her independence, her British upbringing never justified her sticking around with the sociopath Ashok Khurana. She should have dumped Ashok a long time ago, and gradually find a friend in Babita. Together they could figure shit out and move on, enemies to frenemies, to friends.
