Happy Birthday Sunny Leone!

BollyCurry invites you all to join us in celebrating the birthday of Bollywood's own Baby Doll, Sunny Leone. An American actress of Indo-Canadian origin, a businesswoman, a model and a former adult star by profession, Leone turns a year older today.

Leone was born on the 13th of May, 1981, as Karenjit Kaur Vohra to Sikh-Punjabi parents based in Ontario, Canada. As a young teenager, Leone was extremely athletic, and harbored a passion for street hockey. While studying to become a pediatric nurse, she was introduced to a modeling agent by a friend, which served as her gateway to the world of glitz and glam. After a successful modeling career, where Leone appeared as a cover girl for various adult magazines, she soon transitioned into the more hard-core adult film industry. After acting in various successful adult films, Leone and her partner Daniel Weber turned to production, and collaborated on a number of adult projects, all of which were extremely successful and profitable.

Leone stepped into the Bollywood limelight after she appeared in the much anticipated television reality show Bigg Boss in the year 2011. Her introduction to the fellow contestants as an actress and a model, rather than disclosing her true identity of being an adult star, went on to become the talk of the town. It was when the ace director Mahesh Bhatt went inside as one of the celebrity guests and offered her the lead role in his upcoming film Jism 2 opposite the handsome hunk Randeep Hooda, that Leone forayed towards the Hindi film industry.

Marking her Bollywood debut with Pooja Bhatt's erotic thriller film Jism 2 in the year 2012, Leone went on to grab the lead role in films like JackPot (2013), Ragini MMS 2 (2014) and the most recent one being Ek Paheli Leela (2015). She was declared as the Most Desirable Woman of India for the year 2014 by the Times of India group.
