The 30th of May marks the birthday of a veteran Bollywood actor and a credit to the Indian Film Industry, Paresh Rawal. This multi-talented Gujarati actor was born in Mumbai in 1950 and is married to Swaroop Sampat, an actress and former Miss India winner. Both of them have two sons - Aditya and Aniruddh Rawal.
Rawal made his
first appearance
on the silver screen in 1984 with the film Holi
after which he was seen in a large number of supporting and villain
roles throughout the 1980s and 1990s. One particular movie of his from that period is Kshana Kshanam where he
played a bank robber, a film for which he attained wide appreciation on his performance. He then was seen in films such as Sir
and Woh Chokri which gained him the
National Award for Best Supporting Actor. Since 2000 and onwards, Rawal,
on the majority of cases, has been seen playing comic roles and once
again proved his mesh and continued with his progressive success in the
film circuit. The breakthrough in his career appeared
with the comic blockbuster Hera Pheri, also starring Akshay Kumar
and Suniel Shetty. Rawal's spot on comic timing
and acting abilities of a poor man stuck in the middle of a crime fiasco
are one of the named the reasons for the success of the film. He once
again reprised the role in the movie's sequel, Phir
Hera Pheri, in 2006. From there on, he starred in almost all the movies with
a character that carried humor, some of which were; Garam Masala, Hulchul, Chup
Chup Ke, Welcome, De Dana Dan and the 2012 released OMG! Oh My God.
It
is widely said that his humorous pairing with the actor Akshay Kumar does wonders
for the movies both star in; the list of movies and their successes are a proof of it.
Be it with Akshay or any other actor of Bollywood, we have
loved Paresh Rawal both as a wonderful human being and talented actor. Here's wishing him a wonderful birthday with
the hope that he keeps entertaining us with more of his wonderful
films and his success continues to rise with time.
