Characters bring a different identity to a show. Sometimes we may forget the show or it's storyline, but the way some characters are portrayed on screen, it becomes memorable. Every character has its own uniqueness and a trait that defines it and makes it different. There have been several such actors on TV which entertained audience by playing certain characters with unique body movements.
In today's segment of Freaky Friday, we present to you some characters and the unique body gestures (bodily expressions) that they are known for:
The Original Komolika from Kasautii Zindagii Kay (Urvashi Dholakia)
https://www.instagram.com/p/Bo4q48DnOYx/Ekta Kapoor's Kasautii Zindagii Kay was loved and appreciated so much that it got remade again on TV with new cast. Urvashi Dholakia who played the lead antagonist/vamp Komolika in the show received a lot of critical acclaim for portraying it with utmost conviction. The background score Nikka and the way she curled her hair with her fingers was a unique trait of Komolika.
ACP Pradyuman from C.I.D. (Shivaji Satam)
Well, yes today, there are thousands of memes made on him and the whole C.I.D but the show for sure has entertained audience for approx two decades and holds a special place in every 90s kid's heart. But ACP Pradyuman had a unique trait, the way he used his hands to say 'Kuch toh gadbad hai Daya' became an identifier of sorts.
Praful from Khichdi (Rajeev Mehta)
https://www.instagram.com/p/BiF0lw-nken/Khichdi indeed was an epic show by all means. All the characters be it Hansa, Praful, Bapuji, Himanshu or Jayshree, each one was unique and utterly funny in their own ways. We're sure you remember how Rajeev used to roll in his hands in air up and down. You get the point! Right.
Daya from Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah (Disha Vakani)
TMKOC has been and still continues to be an iconic show of Hindi television. The show has so many distinct characters and their funny and weird traits that people have immensely loved, but Dayaben remains the most eccentric character of all time. The way Disha laughs, or does garba or says Hey Maa, Maataji!' has all added a different flavour to Daya as a character.
Mayuri from Chidiya Ghar (Debina Bonnerjee)
Remember SAB TV show Chidiya Ghar where all the characters in the show are named after some animals and also have similar traits? The show was experimental and had a very good comedy. Though each character was shown as a metaphor of some animal and had such traits, Mayuri played by Debina still stands out, though later the character was played by Falaq Naaz. The character had the same traits as a peacock and she kept dancing all the time.
These were a very few chosen by us out of the entire lot. Comment below and let us know which characters you loved because of their unique body expression.
