Fans have missed Fawad Khan sorely in Bollywood. After Ae Dil Hai Mushkil, we have not seen him in any project due to the issue with Pakistani artistes. His movie, The Legend Of Maula Jatt was set to release in India but MNS has opposed to the same. Now, as per a newspaper report, Fawad Khan and Ridhi Dogra are teaming up for a movie. It will be a romcom drama. The whole cast is being finalized. The project is at a very nascent stage now. The source added, “The paperwork was only recently completed, and the duo have been cast as romantic interests. The director’s name is still kept under wraps.”

It seems Ridhi Dogra and Fawad Khan are busy with other projects now. The makers can start the shoot only by the end of 2024. It seems they’re planning a release by end of 2025 or start of 2026. Romcoms have become a vanished genre in Bollywood of late. Fawad Khan has one of the biggest fan bases as a romantic star in Southeast Asia.

The two stars will be shooting the whole project abroad. Nothing will be filmed in India. The source told the entertainment portal, “The project will be shot in several locations including New York (US) and London (UK). It matches the theme of their romcom drama.”

Ridhi Dogra is known for her work on the web series Asur. She played the role of officer Nusrat who has a history with Nikhil Nair’s (Barun Sobti) character. She was also loved as Kaveri Amma in Jawan. She was the adopted mother of Shah Rukh Khan’s character Azad. Ridhi was a part of Tiger 3 too.

Fawad Khan was seen in Barzakh, the web show for Zee5. The handsome star will also be seen in Neelofar, where he plays Mansoor Ali Khan.

Romcoms are lame. There’s too many of them in Bollywood.
