Family show 'Mahisagar' back as 'Naya Mahisagar'

Light hearted family TV show "Mahisagar" will be back as "Naya Mahisagar" on the small screen on February 22.

With an amalgamation of fun, fantasy and humour, the BIG Magic show will have fresh characters with actress Ketki Dave essaying the character of Ansuya's mother-in-law Diwadi ben.

"I am extremely excited to be a part of 'Naya Mahisagar'. I will be essaying the role of a 'daadi saas' who is back from heaven as a spirit and plays a key role in correcting the actions of the saas-bahu in the house to improve their relationship, in her own peculiar funny way," Ketki Dave said in a statement.

"I genuinely believe a show of this nature is much needed to give the audience a breather and make them laugh with relatable content," she added.

Set in the backdrop of Gujarat, "Naya Mahisagar" will focus on the life of a small-town girl and her modern, sarcastic and hypocritical mother-in-law.

The role of Diwadi ben's daughter-in-law will be played by actress Pranoti Pradhan.
