New Delhi, Sep 22 (IANS) After women-centric 'Ammaji Ki Galli', which failed to impress audiences, SAB TV will now woo the viewers with 'Don't worry Chachu' and for a change, the new show will revolve around a male protagonist.
'Ammaji Ki Gall', in which veteran actress Farida Jalal and Rakshanda Khan played the lead characters, is the only show that has not done well. So we thought of shifting our focus back from female protagonist to a male lead and this is why the idea of 'Don't Worry Chachu' came into inception,' Anooj Kapoor, executive VP and Business head, SAB TV, told IANS.
'Don't worry Chachu' is a light-hearted comedy with Asif Sheikh in the title role. Sugandha Mishra of 'Comedy Circus' fame and Anang Desai will join him in the cast. Created and produced by Vipul. D Shah of Optimystix, it will go on air Oct 3.
The show is about a joint family in which interesting happenings occur daily due to Chintan Desai's nature and Asif says with this he is taking forward his long association with the channel.
'I have worked on shows on SAB TV and have great association with them. I have experimented with my looks and worked very hard for the role. The show is worthy to be watched with your family because it gives importance to love and morals,' said Asif.
Asif worked in Sab TV's shows like 'Yes Boss' and 'Ring Wrong Riing, Gili Gili Gappa'.
