Director K V Anand no more : Mohanlal, Prithviraj, Dhanush shocked, pay condolences
National Award winning director and cinematographer K V Anand passed away this morning. South stars including superstar Mohanlal, Allu Arjun, Prithviraj, Dhanush among others offered their condolences.

Tamil director and cinematographer KV Anand breathed his last this morning, Friday, April 30 in Chennai. He was 54 and succumbed after suffering a heart attack.
Anand’s sudden demise has sent shock waves in the South film industry and many actors took to social media to express their disbelief. South stars including superstar Mohanlal, Allu Arjun, Prithviraj, Dhanush among others offered their condolences.
Remembering the National Award winner cinematographer, Mohanlal wrote: “Gone from our sight, but never from our hearts. K.V. Anand sir you will be missed forever. Prayers for the departed soul. Pranams."
Kalyani Priyadarshan was shocked after KV Anand’s demise and tweeted, "Incredibly shocked and saddened... his work from the very beginning in thenmavin kombatthu directly influenced my love for cinema as a child, and shaped who I became today... My heart is heavy as I pray his soul rests in peace. #RIPKVAnand sir.”
Dhanush mourned the loss as he wrote on Twitter: “A gentle kind honest man has passed away. A very sweet man full of life love and joy. K.v anand sir .. gone too soon sir. Too soon. My condolences to his family. Rest in peace k.v sir.”
Allu Arjun also remembered the late director and poured in his condolences: “Just woke up to this sad news that Dir KV Anand garu is no more. Wonderful cameraman , brilliant director and very nice gentleman . Sir you will always be remember & missed . Condolences to the near , dear & family . Rest in Peace Sir . #KVAnand”

He was best-known for his work in largely Tamil films like Kana Kandaen, Ayan, Ko, Maattrraan, Anegan, Kavan and Kaappaa.
He received a National Film Award for Best Cinematographer in the year 1994 for his work in the Malayalam movie Thenmavin Kombath, starring Mohanlal, Shobana in the lead roles.
