YouTuber Dhruv Rathee criticized filmmaker Vivek Agnihotri for allowing children to watch his A-rated film, The Bengal Files. Dhruv Rathee quickly responded to Vivek Agnihotri's post, criticizing him for allowing children to watch The Bengal Files. "Are you seriously making children watch an Adult rated film? This should be a crime. You are traumatising their childhood by showing them so much blood, gore and violence (sic)," he wrote while replying to the filmmaker's post on X.

The film delves into the August 1946 Calcutta killings, sparked by the Muslim League's Direct Action Day, resulting in communal violence, numerous casualties, and Mahatma Gandhi's peace fast at Beleghata.
On its second Friday (day 8), Vivek Agnihotri's The Bengal Files earned approximately Rs 55 lakh net in India, the lowest since its release. The film's first week concluded with Rs 11.25 crore net, and the total collection now stands at Rs 11.8 crore.
The Bengal Files boasts a stellar cast, with Mithun Chakraborty, Anupam Kher, and Pallavi Joshi leading the way in prominent roles. Darshan Kumar and Simrat Kaur also play key parts, supported by a talented ensemble that includes Saswata Chatterjee, Namashi Chakraborty, Rajesh Khera, Puneet Issar, Priyanshu Chatterjee, Dibyendu Bhattacharya, Sourav Das, and Mohan Kapur. The film's ensemble cast promises a compelling viewing experience.
