Fashion is not just for grownups. Vibrant attires and stellar performances by children enthralled the audience on Sunday at the Delhi edition of the India Kids Fashion Week (IKFW) 2015.
The two-day event, which started on Saturday at The Grand hotel here, saw children sharing the ramp with confidence and style with the blue blood of the fashion fraternity.
While the first day saw designers and fashion icons like Karisma Kapoor and Noyonika Chatterjee walking the ramp as show-stoppers, the second day saw brands like Little Royals, My Lil' Berry, Nauti Nati, Daughters Dream World, Jabong along with designers Elisha Wadhwani and Ritu Beri unveiling their collections.
The show started with Biba's children's label Biba Girls new 'Magical Summer Collection', where Noyonika Chatterjee walked the ramp as the showstopper.
Medha Nanda showcased her collection called "Lotus" -- a representation of rebirth, purity and enlightenment. Actress Ruhi Singh took the final walk for the show.
Sheena Creations, an online boutique for children's wear and accessories, presented a collection that juxtaposes New York chic with classic comfort. Young boys and girls walked the ramp in a riot of colours. Femina Miss India World 2008 Parvathy Omanakuttan graced the ramp with the little ones.
Designer Kirti Rathore presented an exquisite display of Rajasthani culture through her collection.
Inspired by the colourful festivals of Rajasthan, the collection featured unique sherwanis. Jasbir Jassi walked as the showstopper for the show that also saw the presence of actor Nasir Abdullah.
The finale was a grand show by Kidology where ace designers showcased their own interpretation of 'kid-o-logy'.
While Gauri and Nainika presented ultra-feminine styles with old world charm, dressing up little girls resonating their world of fairytales, Gaurav Gupta's collection featured a twist to tradition with the conventional lehenga turning into a gown in stunning colours.
Siddartha Tytler favoured bold colours, intricate embroidery, sharp cuts and a dash of bling.
To conclude the first day, Karisma donned a dazzling white dress, and a little girl wearing the same attire accompanied her.
"Being a mom is better than any award that I may have won in my life... All these little children were professionals, the way they walked, they enhanced the clothes. The Kids Fashion Week is a great concept," Karisma told reporters.
The second day saw celebrity chef Kunal Kapoor and his nine-year-old son walking in style with boys wearing footwear from online shoe portal Little Royals.
Wadhwani showcased her maiden collection called "Princess", inspired by the afternoon soirees of France and the British tea parties.
The collection comprised dresses in soft spring hues in dreamy princess-like silhouettes. Singer Tulsi Kumar walked the ramp with little princesses.
Little girls looked ethereal in skirts and gowns crafted using the softest of fabrics.
Nauti Nati showcased a party wear range, as model-actor Natasha Stankovic of "Bigg Boss 8" fame walked the ramp.
Kanchan Bawa's outfits - inspired by the "sparkling smiles of the happy kids" - focused on the wearability factor of the party wear range.
The high point of the show was when actresses Anjana Sukhani and Shraddha Arya walked the ramp in shimmering gowns along with the little angels.
Max Retail showcased bright and colourful creations, with actor Sahil Salathia as the show stopper, while Mimmi & Maggie displayed a collection inspired by Bohemian style, where model Nikita Anand walked the ramp.
Brand-conscious children were in for a treat as Jabong presented ensembles from three international brands -- Elle Kids, Fox Kids and Tommy Hilfiger Children along with its exclusive children's collection called Evolve. Singer Shibani Kashyap walked the ramp for them.
The befitting climax of the show was when style icon Ritu Beri, the first Asian designer to head French fashion brand Jean Louis Schere, presented contemporary and traditional hues.
