Deepika Padukone on Irrfan Khan's ill-health

Deepika Padukone was supposed to reunite with his Piku co-star Irrfan Khan in Vishal Bhardwaj's gangster drama, tentatively titled Sapna Didi. The film was slated to go on floors in March this year but it was put on a backburner after the was diagnosed with a neuroendocrine tumour. Irrfan flew down to London for the treatment later and Vishal announced that the film has been stalled for now.

Now talking about Irrfan's health and their project, Deepika spoke to The New Indian Express and stated, "Forget the actor part, for me, Irrfan is someone I'm extremely fond of as a person. I can't say it was expected, but neither was it a shock. I myself have been through certain experiences in the past, and it has taught me that life is fragile. Anything can happen to anyone. Nothing shocks or alarms me anymore, but I do wish him good health and a speedy recovery."

Earlier too, when Deepika was prodded about Irrfan's health at a recent award show, she had requested everyone to give space to the actor. "Like he has requested, there are times when people just need to be left alone for sometime and figure their lives out. And I think we should respect that space that he has requested for. Like we said, let's hope for the best," said Deepika.

Well, we certainly expect that Irrfan bounces back stronger than ever and the two carve their magic on the silver screen once again.
