Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah has been going on and strong for over 12 long years now and even then, it manages to enjoy immense popularity and viewership r en today.
However, there have been two burning questions ever since a long time and they are - when will Days (Disha Vakani) return? And just when will Popatlal get married? On one hand, Vakani left the show over three years ago post being pregnant and giving birth where he has not returned ever since; on the other hand, Popatlal's marriage track has been exploited way more times than one can think of and it has seemingly caught up to many now.
However, these are questions that nobody is worrying about right now. Talking about these two things apart from Natukaka (Ghanshyam Nayak) too in an interview with ETimes TV, Modi said, "Natukaka is a senior citizen and has recovered from his illness but due to the pandemic, I feel, he should stay at home and follow safety protocols. We will surely get him back on the show when the situation gets better. Similarly, Popatlal's marriage is important but it will also have to wait in the current circumstances."
About Data's return, Modi said, "I feel I should become Dayaben now! The question of her return has been going on for many years now. We are still waiting for her to come back and if she expresses her desire to quit, the show will go on with a new Daya. But, right now I don't feel Daya's return or Popatlal's wedding is important. In the pandemic there are more serious issues and I feel all those matters can wait. We have to think of safety protocols and continue shooting so that livelihoods are not affected. Also, the bio-bubble format is quite effective and if we get permission for it, I would like to work in that format."
We wonder what does the viewers have to say about that.
