Citadel: Honey Bunny star Varun Dhawan recalls how Samantha Ruth Prabhu's health issues left him tensed

Citadel: Honey Bunny is getting rave reviews all over. Hollywood critics are raving over the slick production and stellar acting of leads Varun Dhawan and Samantha Ruth Prabhu. The series has been shot in India and destinations like Serbia. Varun Dhawan spoke about how his talented co-star dealt with her health issues, which left Varun Dhawan really tensed for her. 

He told Anupama Chopra that Samantha Ruth Prabhu needed extra oxygen on one of the days. Myositis can cause breathing problems in a number of ways. It can be very serious even affecting the heart. Varun Dhawan said he saw Samantha Ruth Prabhu shut her eyes and say, “It’s just one of those days”. He further said, “We kept shooting for about two hours and after a short while an oxygen tank is coming and she is taking oxygen on the side.” 

He said the incident left him angry and moved. Varun Dhawan said it was the only time he saw Samantha Ruth Prabhu cry because of her condition. He said he knew he could not be angry on the makers, Raj and DK as they were supportive at every step. Dhawan said he knew that the duo were feeling worse about this whole thing. Lauding Samantha Ruth Prabhu’s resilience, he said, “It was just her determination and will to march on, just looking at her, gave me so much power and positivity.”

The actress has said how working on Citadel: Honey Bunny kept her morale up as she struggled with myositis. She had earlier said, “If it wasn’t for them, it would have taken much longer for me to get healthier again and I wouldn’t have had anything to fight back for or to come back up. This was enough motivation.” Everyone has loved the camaraderie that Varun Dhawan and Samantha Ruth Prabhu seem to share. 

In fact, when a troll had made a nasty comment on her dull look at the Shakuntalam press conference, Varun Dhawan schooled him saying that he had met the actress and she looked radiant as she recovered from her auto-immune condition. It was being said that Samantha Ruth Prabhu was planning to go to South Korea to seek treatment for this matter. The Far East country has some cutting edge technology for such illnesses.
