Celine Dion makes a grand comeback to the stage with a powerful performance at the Paris Olympics opening

Celine Dion, the Canadian superstar, made a spectacular return to the stage after a significant health challenge. She delivered a powerful performance at the Paris Olympics opening ceremony, captivating the audience with her signature vocal prowess. Despite speculation about a duet with Lady Gaga, Celine opted for a solo performance on the Eiffel Tower, bringing the event to a memorable close. 

This marked her first live show in four years, following her revelation about battling Stiff Person Syndrome (SPS), a rare neurological disorder impacting her muscles and voice. 

Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau said that she “is a Canadian icon, an incredible talent, and she overcame a lot to be there tonight”.

He added: “Celine, it’s great to see you singing again”.

Italian singer Laura Pausini wrote: “My hands were shaking and my eyes were crying as I listened and saw my beloved Celine Dion."

On Friday, when Celine Dion performed Edith Piaf's timeless classic "L'Hymne à l'Amour," it showed promising progress that her treatment is effective. She sang alongside a pianist on the first level of the Eiffel Tower, surrounded by dazzling Olympic rings.
