The occasion to enjoy and meet and greet our friends
is Diwali. Hence our TV actors are also enjoying this much loved festival with
joy and cherish their childhood memories of celebrating this festival.
Let's see what these TV celebs share with us...
Rithvik Dhanjani - Arjun of Pavitra
Rishta says, "As a child, I used to go out with my father
every Diwali to shop for crackers. This used to make me very happy and I still
cherish those memories. Every Diwali I make it a practice to gift sweets and
diyas to all of my friends.
I don't usually burst noisy crackers like bombs and
rockets, but prefer lighting up Anaars, Chakrees and Phuljhadis that are not
noisy at all. The decibel level of bombs and the smoke they emit is destructive
not just to the environment but human health and well-being too. That is why I
don't think there is any kind of fun in bursting noisy crackers!"
Asha Negi - Purvi of
Pavitra Rishta
says, "I have always loved this festival of lights. Making
Rangolis and of course bursting crackers is so much fun! And we also tend to
have a small celebration on the sets of
Pavitra Rishta as well. It is like one
big happy family! The huge variety of sweets that one has at home makes this my
time of indulgence as it is the only occasion which I get to spend time with my
family and close friends. Of course, as always, the year's celebrations depend
on our shoot schedules although I do plan to definitely spend a day with my
family and friends."
Shrishty Rode - Sarita of
Punar Vivaah Ek Nayi Umeed
says, "I have always celebrated Diwali with my family. It is
that one occasion that I get to meet my entire family at one place. Of course
the gifts that I receive from my brothers are also an added incentive. (Laughs)
I absolutely love helping my mom make sweets and decorate the house with
lights, diyas & rangolis. The lights and the festive atmosphere make the
entire house look so beautiful!"
Paridhi Sharma - Jodha of
Jodha Akbar
says, "While the normal preparations of cleaning the
house, festive shopping, lighting up diyas and bursting crackers are on, I
believe that festivals like Diwali are the perfect occasion for a family
reunion and a celebration of these special moments with our loved ones. I would
like to wish everyone a very happy, safe and noiseless Diwali. It's time for
all to let go of their diets and indulge in high calorie sweets. A little
indulgence never kills anyone!"
Shilpa Shirodkar - Kamala Bai of Ek
Mutthi Aasman says, "Diwali has always been an important
celebration for my family. As a tradition, the entire family comes down from
all parts of the country to celebrate Diwali. It truly is an amazing experience
to have each and every family member present for the puja every day. Being a
Hindu, the
grih pravesh also forms an important part of the celebration.
Then who can forget the sweets, crackers, lights & card games in the
evenings. I don't attach undue importance to gifts. Spending time with family
and friends means the most to me during Diwali. I spend every Diwali at home
with my family. To me, Diwali is all about having a good time with my near and
dear ones."
Surbhi Jyoti - Zoya of
Qubool Hai
says, "I love firecrackers, but I ensure that I burst crackers with utmost
safety and would appeal to everyone to have a safe and prosperous Diwali with
their near and dear ones. I wish them good luck and happiness in the coming
year. I love shopping and just like every year, this year too I will go out and
splurge on new clothes for Diwali and spend time with friends and family. My
friend's mom always prepares a special sweet for me and I can't wait to relish
it!"
Roopal Tyagi - Gunjan of Sapne Suhaane
Ladakpan Ke says, "I have some amazing memories of
celebrating Diwali during my childhood days. Being the eldest daughter it was
my responsibility to decorate the entire house. After the Laxmi-Ganesh puja our
first job was to light up the earthen lamps and burst crackers. Since I am
staying away from family now, I ensure to follow the same rituals here as well
and feel the same at home. The only difference being - here is I celebrate this
festival with my extended family i.e. my close friends. However, this year I
will also be celebrating it with my co-stars of
Sapne Suhane Ladakpan Ke."
Vikrant Massey - Ayaan of
Qubool Hai
says, "I love the festival of lights. It's the time when we
celebrate this festival with our near and dear ones and this is an occasion
which brings all of us closer and we tend to cheer up the mood of the festival.
Since I am staying away from my family, I ensure that I celebrate this festival
with my friends and co-actors. This time, however, the entire cast of Qubool
Hai has planned to celebrate Diwali together on the sets since we are all like
a family now."
Gautami Kapoor - Shruti of Khelti
Hai Zindagi Aankh Micholi says, "I have always looked
forward to festivals ever since I was a kid. This is the only time when the
entire family gets together and we all exchange gifts. I remember one incident
where we had gone to our relative's place and returned to find that one rocket
had burnt our curtains. Thankfully the windows were almost completely closed
and no damage was done to the room. In Mumbai, the city is dotted with lights
and it's a wonderful sight to see every nook and corner lit up. This year
I'm hoping for a day off from the shoot of
Khelti Hai Zindagi Aankh Micholi a
couple of days prior to Diwali so that I can go shopping for diyas and other
decorative items and decorate my house beautifully."
Suchita Trivedi - Sushma of
Bh Se Bhade
says, "Diwali for me is all about crackers, sweets, new
clothes, rangolis and lanterns. I actively participate in making an elaborative
and ornate Rangoli at our doorstep with my siblings. I think the kid in me
comes alive during such festivities when I go all out and celebrate the
festival like a child."
Manav Gohil - Sanjay of Khelti Hai Zindai
Aankh Micholi says, "Diwali is one festival when I
ensure that I go and celebrate this festival with my family, either by going
back home or by calling my family down to Mumbai. My daughter loves lights,
rangolis and the crackers around and enjoys having the company of friends and
family around."
TellyBuzz wishes you a very happy and prosperous Diwali!!
