BTS Army thrilled as Korean channel faces censure for airing incorrect CCTV footage as SUGA's DUI incident

BTS Army is happy to know that a regulatory body of Korean Broadcasting Media has called out JTBC for airing incorrect CCTV footage saying it was of BTS SUGA and his alleged DUI incident. The video when it got released brought a lot of flak to the rapper and music producer from BTS. SUGA has admitted that he was tipsy when he rode home in an electric scooter after drinking at a restaurant. It seems he fell off the scooter near the gate of his apartment complex. A couple of cops were patrolling the area and they picked him up. Since he was under the influence of alcohol, they filed a complaint. 

The incorrect CCTV footage thought to be on BTS rapper SUGA had gone viral. It got him a lot of flak from netizens. Post that, there was a demand that he is removed from Bangtan Sonyeondan and more. BTS Army is shocked that Min Yoongi’s incident got so much coverage when there is no damage to any person or property. He had already apologized in a letter to fans. 

Now, a news has come on X that says that the Korea Communications Standards Commission (KCC) has announced top channel JTBC will face disciplinary action for incorrect reporting on SUGA’s alleged DUI matter. The CCTV footage aired by them was false, and did not belong to the rapper. Members of the KCC held a meeting at the Mokdong Broadcast Center in Seoul and decided to send a notice to JTBC over contents of their ‘Newsroom’ on August 7, 2024. 

It seems they will decide the level of sanctions to be imposed on JTBC after a meeting within themselves. These could be legal sanctions to heavy disciplinary actions. Fans also want Yonhap News to be called out by the KCC. The reporting on the entire sex scandal of Moon Taeil, the member of NCT 127 was rather subdued. He has been charged with sex crimes on an adult woman. International fans feel it is sad that things like sex crimes go scot free while people are bothered about SUGA’s harmless DUI.
