Mission Raniganj and Thank You For Coming

The Bollywood box office witnessed an interesting showdown between two diverse films, 'Mission Raniganj' and 'Thank You For Coming,' as they entered their crucial fourth day. While both films brought unique stories to the screen, their box office performances painted distinct pictures.

Bhumi Pednekar starrer 'Thank You For Coming,' touted as a sex comedy with a bold take on female sexual pleasure, faced a challenging opening weekend. The film's early estimates for Monday collections, as reported by Sacnilk.com, stand at approximately ₹35 lakhs, with an occupancy rate of 11.74 percent in the Hindi-speaking regions. The movie's total four-day earnings now amount to ₹4.77 crore.

Despite its progressive theme and ensemble cast, including Shehnaaz Gill, Kusha Kapila, Dolly Singh, and Shibani Bedi, 'Thank You For Coming' couldn't gain the momentum it hoped for at the box office. Special appearances by Anil Kapoor and Karan Kundrra added star power to the film, which was directed by Karan Boolani and co-produced by Rhea Kapoor.

In the other corner of the box office ring, Akshay Kumar's 'Mission Raniganj' started with a promising opening weekend but faced a decline on its first Monday. The film, centered around a rescue mission, collected approximately ₹1.25 crore on Monday, according to Sacnilk.com. The film's total collection now stands at ₹13.85 crore after four days of release.

'Mission Raniganj' opened raking in ₹2.8 crore on Friday and continuing to perform well with ₹4.80 crore on Saturday and ₹5 crore on Sunday. However, Monday's occupancy rate dipped to 9.23 percent in Hindi-speaking regions.

The movie, also featuring Parineeti Chopra and Kumud Mishra, is based on the true story of Jaswant Singh Gill, who led India's first successful coal mine rescue mission in 1989. Directed by Tinu Suresh Desai and produced by Vashu Bhagnani, Jackky Bhagnani, Deepshikha Deshmukh, and Ajay Kapoor, 'Mission Raniganj' combines action and inspiration.
