After the first successful season of Prakash Jha’s web series Aashram, the second season Aashram Chapter 2: The Dark Side released last month starring Bobby Deol as godman Kashipur Waale Baba Nirala.
The show soon invited legal trouble as several notices were issued to the makers for allegedly ‘degrading Hindu religion’. The controversy around the show continues as the Jodhpur Court has now issued a legal notice against Jha and Deol and sought their replies. The court fixed the next date of hearing for January 11, 2020.
Advocate Khush Khandelwal who filed a petition in court, said the series shows Hindu gurus as rapists, corrupt and involved in drugs business. He said the series shows Hindu religion in poor light and has hurt the religious sentiments of Hindus. In his plea, Khandelwal has mentioned some scenes that are objectionable.
Previously, the Karni Sena had sent a legal notice to Prakash Jha and MX Player, and said that the show targets ‘the ancient tradition, custom, culture of Hindu, Ashramas Dharma’ in their notice.
