Bigg Boss OTT: Raqesh Bapat says ''I think everybody is outrageous on the show, some like those who are calm''

Actor Raqesh Bapat has made his way into the Bigg Boss OTT house after all this time of not taking up on the show. Before stepping inside the house, he spoke to India Forums about what prompted him to take the show up, the reaction from friends and family, and more. He also mentioned how the pandemic is something that lead him into saying yes to the show as well.

What prompted you to take Bigg Boss OTT? You are also not active on social media, and this is a different game altogether, what do you have to say?

Because OTT is the new thing now, it is happening. I am not active, but my team is very active. Honestly speaking, my instinct told me that this time I want to. And even the team I spoke to, every year I have been refusing Bigg Boss, I never thought I would crack this. This time, things just fell into place, and pandemic also helped me to take the decision, because anywya we were living like inmates of Bigg Boss in our own house, given we've been dealing with mental health issues, etc. And Bigg Boss is about mind games, to test your mind completely, so it is good that we have somewhere gotten trained. I also wanted to accept this challenge, I did not want to leave any stone unturned in my life, as I am always looking to explore.

How was the reaction from friends and family?

Everyone was pretty surprised because every year I discuss it with them and say I don't want to do it and all, and they say okay. This time I just told them I am doing it and they said that be yourself, don't be anybody you are not, and that'd be something which will overhead you in this contest. They were pretty supportive about it, they just didn't believe it will be so long, as was the same case with me.

This is going to be different from what we see ideally, are you prepared with what's ahead?

I am open as in I don't think too much about, I want to take it as it comes. Bold, not so bold, there's a format that you have to stick to. But how to protect yourself and your image is completely in your hands. If I am not okay with doing something so I am going to stand up for it. I am going to be true to my personality if I go to the house.

Are you someone who is image-conscious since people are likely to go OTT?

Let people do. You have to be meditative and focus on what you believe in, so nobody can touch it. 

You are peaceful and simple by nature, how will you keep up in the show?

I think everybody is outrageous on the show, some people like to see people like me who are calm and composed and there has to be a balance somewhere. So I think I am going to be that balance.

Have you ever seen Bigg Boss earlier?

I have never seen Bigg Boss, and people often wonder how have you not seen it, but I never thought I will be a part of the show, I am not a reality show kind of person, as a viewer also. So that's why I never watched any of the reality shows and because I have not seen the earlier seasons, I have an open mind, and I like that for myself.
