Kartik Aaryan's Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3 is still going strong at the box office, having collected Rs 137 crore in its initial five days. Directed by Anees Bazmee, this highly awaited sequel sees Aaryan reprising his role as Rooh Baba, a character that has garnered immense praise. The film faced competition from Ajay Devgn's Singham Again.
After a fantastic beginning with a whopping Rs 124 crore net collection in India in the first four days, the movie experienced a slight decline on Tuesday, making around Rs 13 crore. The strong start with Rs 35.5 crore on the first day and a weekend that crossed the Rs 100 crore mark had raised expectations, but Tuesday's 27.78% decrease allowed 'Singham Again' to edge ahead slightly.
Kartik Aaryan, portraying the adored character Rooh Baba, appears ecstatic about the overwhelming reception. He surprised fans on Sunday by showing up at Mumbai's famous Gaiety Galaxy theatre, where he received a thunderous applause. Decked in a casual checkered shirt, Kartik stood on his car holding a "Housefull" sign, basking in the adoration from his fans. He shared the moment on Instagram, stating, "H O U S E F U L L boards everywhere. I wanted to take it home as a souvenir but they said they need it again tomorrow!"
Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3 continues the legacy that started with Priyadarshan's 2007 blockbuster Bhool Bhulaiyaa, featuring Akshay Kumar as the iconic ghostbuster. Kartik joined the franchise with Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2 in 2022, a movie that redefined horror-comedy and became a massive success. Now, the franchise welcomes back Vidya Balan as the infamous Manjulika after 17 years, adding even more excitement to the mix.
Under the direction of Anees Bazmee, Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3 is poised to uphold the franchise's tradition of merging horror with humor, with Kartik's Rooh Baba and Vidya's Manjulika gearing up for an unforgettable face-off. Fans and critics are hailing it as one of the top releases of the year, and the movie's box office success appears unstoppable as it enters its first full week.
