Comedienne Bharti Singh recently shared about her final meeting with Sidharth Shukla, just a week before his sudden passing. The cherished TV heartthrob tragically passed away from a heart attack on September 2, 2001, at Mumbai's Cooper Hospital. Bharti recounted their chance encounter in Lokhandwala, where Sidharth warmly introduced her to his mother, and they exchanged greetings.
At that moment, Bharti was in the initial phases of her pregnancy. She expressed her desire to inform Sidharth about the pregnancy but found herself unable to do so. “I was in my first trimester, and I couldn’t share the news with him. It just didn’t feel like the right time,” Bharti said.
Learning about Sidharth's unexpected passing left her completely stunned, leaving her breathless. Bharti recalled, “I knew him well, having worked together on two shows. When I heard the news, I felt a tightness in my chest.” The doctors recommended that she steer clear of stress and refrain from attending Sidharth's funeral because of her condition.
Bharti also looked back on her work moments with Sidharth, particularly on the India's Got Talent sets. She cherished the memories of Sidharth playfully teasing her during work, managing to bring a smile to her face even when she tried to stay annoyed with him. “Sidharth ne mujhe IGT mein bada tangg kiya. Bada tangg karta tha,” Bharti shared, chuckling. “He would go into his van and not come out, while I would be waiting for him. I used to think, ‘When he comes out, I’ll show him I’m upset,’ but he would always manage to make me laugh,” she added.

Haarsh Limbachiyaa, Bharti's husband, also reflected on memories of Sidharth, focusing on his journey to stardom after Bigg Boss 13 and their shared experiences amid the COVID-19 pandemic. Haarsh mentioned their show, Hum Tum Aur Quarantine, which they hosted during the pandemic, and how they persuaded Sidharth to participate in a special episode through a video call. “The video was large, and it couldn’t be transferred online. Sidharth, being the generous person he was, drove down to our building just to hand over the video,” Haarsh said, remembering the late actor’s dedication and kind-hearted nature.
Sidharth Shukla's unexpected passing has created a deep emptiness in the hearts of his fans, friends, and the whole entertainment world, with his legacy continuing to shine brightly through the cherished memories recounted by his dear ones.
