Celebrated actress Benaf Dadachandji has made quite a mark in the Indian entertainment industry. Returning to the screens, Benaf will be seen essaying a pivotal role in Sony Entertainment Television’s ‘Dhadkan Zindaggi Kii’, powerful show that mirrors every working woman who is caught between the patriarchal norms and her dreams.

Tell us about your character?

My character name is Aditi Saxena and I play Vikrant's wife, also a doctor. I enter the show when there is something going to start again between Deepika and Vikrant and I am the 'kebab me haddi'. It is a great character to play and it is always fun to have a love triangle, the dialogues and everything, the complexity of the character, while being respectful and not going crazy and I am fortunate to get a role like this.

Do you relate to the character at any level?

Yes I do related to the character Aditi a lot. Not me personally, but I know of a lot of people who are in marriages where it is just one sides, where they are living under one roof, they are not compatible, and they don't love each other. There are a lot of people like that, so it is a very complex character where you maintain all your duty and responsibilities, but you know there's nothing on the other end, expecting nothing from the other person. Not directly, but indirectly I know the pain that a person goes through, trying to make it work, it is very difficult and it is not nice mentally, portraying to the world that everything is normal, but in your heart, you know it is not. In that sense, I do related a lot to the character and the emotions and the complexities and the layers.

What do you think about the plot of the show and the integral points it touches?

I think it is a very apt plot for the current times we are living in, with COVID and everything taking over the world, people are giving importance to health and people are understanding how health is wealth because anything can happen to anyone. A show like Dadkan is educating our masses about different diseases, about how frontline workers are performing their duties day and night and at the end of the day, our show is very entertaining with the drama happening.

How is it working with Additi and Rohit, and the entire cast?

Oh, I am really enjoying working with both of them, they are brilliant actors and they are so giving. They are wonderful people both on set and off sets and they are also very realistic so even emoting in all the scenes becomes very easy. The entire cast, I have gotten close to Raghav, Nishant, Vidyut, Alma. Work doesn't seem like work, it is like a party where everyone is chilling and chatting. Everyone is wonderful on sets, even the directors, the DOP. It is a great set and great vibe.

Lastly, what is in store for fans with what is ahead.

As of now, I am just doing Dhadkan. Hopefully, after seeing this, I will be approached for something else and then my fans can look forward to that.
