Anupamaa actor Nishi Saxena: I have never dreamed about my wedding

Be it elaborate backdrops, story sequences or costumes, no one can do better on screen weddings than producer Deepa Shahi and Rajan Shahi, says actress Nishi Saxena, who plays the role of Dimpy in Deepa Shahi and Rajan Shahi’s Anupamaa. She adds that the current wedding sequence was very special.

“I think all wedding sequences are special, but especially when it's a DKP wedding, it becomes even more special because nobody does weddings better than DKP. And this wedding was also very special. It was a very special feeling because it was Dimpy's wedding. She had struggled a lot in her life and for five years she was alone, and finally, happiness was coming her way. So, everybody was happy, and the wedding finally happened. Ansh was so cute during the whole wedding, walking down the aisle with the kids and Kavya, who has been my best friend for the past five years. It was a very special feeling, and everybody loves wedding sequences. Even on the set, we all love weddings and dressing up, getting ready, and everything. So, I personally love these sequences and I get excited whenever there is a wedding or festival scene in Anupama because people also love it, and I also love watching this!” she says.

Talking about her dream wedding, she says, “To be honest, I have never dreamed about my wedding! I don't know if it's because I haven't prepared for it, and even during my childhood, I never dreamed about my wedding. Sometimes, I feel that it should be a big function, a big lavish wedding, but most of the time, I feel like, why spend so much money and food? so much energy. Also, a small intimate wedding would also be a good idea, but I don't know, I'm not sure. Sometimes I lean towards this, sometimes towards that. So, I still don't know what my dream wedding looks like!”

Wedding sequences are very relatable with the audience, says the actress, adding, “This is because of how beautifully they are done on television, especially DKP. They know how to do it right. I've loved this show even before I was a part of it. I love the grand weddings, the big festivities like baa bapuji's anniversary, DKP just knows how to celebrate and host functions in the right way, making the audience emotional with so many emotional and happy scenes that people love to watch. I've seen so many in real-life weddings like this, and in my house, too, they use the "Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai" song during wedding functions, and I think that's beautiful. This wedding also has very cute and emotional, romantic, funny, family moments. I just hope that people loved it. I just adore this Dimpy and Teetu's wedding!”
