After winning viewers over with his bad-boy character as Siddhant Sinha in &TV's Ghar Ek Mandir-Kripa Agrasen Maharaja Ki, popular actor Ankit Bathla is now playing Siddhant's twin brother Vedant Sinha. Siddhant will receive bail from his twin brother, Vedant Sinha, a well-known criminal lawyer and will go to any extent to get justice for his brother Siddhanth. After Siddhanth shot Genda (Shrenu Parikh) and her father-in-law, he was put behind bars and now will make a comeback to create more havoc and high-voltage drama in the Agarwal family.
India Forums got in touch with the actor, and we quizzed him about how entering a show mid-way can work either way. He tells us,
Of course I had various apprehensions about it, because everybody had relationships already established on sets, etc, but it has been one of the best experiences I have had on the show so far. I was in Delhi, shooting for something and then I came to Jaipur, but it was so fantastic. The set is so eased out, and it is a small family since we are shooting away from family, we have lunches together, we don't have friends as such, and they took care of me. I was in a place where I did not order food, etc, so they helped me out. By far, this is the best experiences I have had. Ghar Ek Mandir rocks! (smiles)
About his equation with Shrenu Parikh, he says,
''Shrenu is my baby, she calls me her soul-sister (laughs), because she shares everything - gossip, rumours, with me, so we are always talking a lot and we are always found together. Akshay is also fantatsic, so we all chill together. There's a game called monopoly, and they've taught me that, and we play a lot. I have seen her working in the shows, and I know she is a fantastic actor. Of course, she is very beautiful and I was wondering she might have attitude, and you assume such things, which is a wrong assumption, but she is one of the best co-actors I have been lucky to work with. I really admire her acting skills.''
About turning host for the digital space, he says,
''I have been anchoring live events for a really long time, but turning host for a digital space is very interesting because you get to meet and talk to new people every day, and what I love about hosting is how it is very spontaneous and there is no fixed script, so I've been lucky to work with Vidya Balan, and other names from the industry. I can be myself, and it is Ankit Bathla doing hosting, and not a particular character.''
Well, we are sure fans can expect more drama follow in the show ahead!
