Anil Kapoor immerses his mother’s ashes in the Ganga: 'Ma and Dad are finally back together…'

Anil Kapoor immersed the ashes of his late mother, Nirmal Kapoor, in the Ganga, at the same site where his late father, Surinder Kapoor, was laid to rest a decade ago. He shared a picture on Instagram, depicting him performing the rituals. In the photograph, Anil is seen in white, with a black shawl draped around his neck. He was seated on the ground, his hands clasped in prayer. Beside him, other men in white were also present. The image also featured Sadhvi Bhagawati Saraswati, dressed in saffron, participating in the ceremony.

For the caption, he wrote: “Grief and Healing…Today we immersed Ma’s ashes in the Ganga…In the same place where we had laid Dad to rest nearly a decade ago…" The actor mentioned that his parents are finally reunited. “With the grief came a quiet sense of peace, Like Ma and Dad are finally back together… With each other, home at last."

Filmmaker Boney Kapoor and actor Anil Kapoor visited Parmarth Niketan Ashram. They met with Swami Chidanand Saraswati, reflecting on the final moments with their late mother, Nirmal Kapoor.

Nirmal Kapoor, who passed away at 90 on May 2 this year due to age-related issues, was the grandmother to Arjun Kapoor, Sonam Kapoor, Janhvi Kapoor, Khushi Kapoor, Harshvardhan Kapoor, Shanaya Kapoor, and Mohit Marwah.

Earlier, Anil had paid tribute to his mother on social media. “My mother touched so many lives, not just directly but through the people she nurtured, supported, and loved. She was one of those remarkable women who never stood in the spotlight but whose strength held everyone together."

"A silent pillar, always smiling, always caring, always bringing warmth to those around her," the actor continued, emphasizing that his mother was the family's bond. He noted, "From our children to our grandchildren, and even our extended family and friends. Her love reached far and wide, and it’s clear from the outpouring of messages and affection that she made a lasting impact on so many hearts."
