Netflix has made it official that Aryan Khan, son of Bollywood icon Shah Rukh Khan, will be stepping into the director's chair for an upcoming series. The streaming giant shared the exciting news on Instagram, triggering a wave of enthusiasm from Bollywood stars. Recently, Ananya Panday also sent a hilarious reaction to Aryan Khan’s debut series.
Ananya Panday, who shares a close bond with Aryan's sister, Suhana Khan, and has been friends with him since childhood, showed her support for the upcoming series. She expressed her confidence in Aryan's directorial debut by stating, "Oh, you are so not ready for this. Excited for you, Aryan," as she reposted the announcement.
The highly anticipated web series announcement was made at a glamorous event in Los Angeles. Hosted by Netflix's Chief Content Officer, Bela Bajaria, the event unveiled numerous international projects scheduled to premiere in 2025.
Suhana Khan, alongside her father SRK, demonstrated her support for her brother by sharing Netflix's Instagram post and adding her personal touch. She captioned it with heartfelt words, "Lots of laughs, drama, action, and a little bit of trouble—just like it always is with you, @_aryan. I cannot wait! So proud."
This upcoming project, marking Aryan's directorial debut, will receive backing from his mother, Gauri Khan. Red Chillies Entertainment and Netflix India have a successful history of collaborating on hit shows like Darlings, Bhakshak, Class of '83, Betaal, and Bard of Blood. The unnamed series is set for an exclusive premiere on Netflix in 2025.
On the work front, Ananya Panday made her debut in Karan Johar's Student of the Year 2 in 2019, post that she has worked in movies like Khaali Peeli, Pati Patni Aur Woh, Kho Gaye Hum Kahan, Gehraiyaan, and CTRL. She made her digital debut with Call Me Bae this year.
