Amitabh Bachchan recalls Ratan Tata's down-to-earth nature; reminisces once he asked money from him

On Kaun Banega Crorepati 16, Amitabh Bachchan paid tribute to Ratan Tata, recalling Tata's humility and sharing a touching anecdote from their past. In a KBC promo, Bachchan fondly remembered a moment with Tata, who recently passed away at 86.

During the episode with guests Boman Irani and Farah Khan, Bachchan remarked, “Kya aadmi the main bata nahi sakta. Such a simple human being.” He recounted a flight to London with Tata, praising his humility and grace in everyday moments. "Once, we both were on the same flight," Bachchan shared. "We landed at Heathrow Airport, and the people who were supposed to pick him up must have left by then. I saw him standing there, and he went to a phone booth to make a call."

What followed was a memory Bachchan said he’d always cherish. “A short while later, he came up to me and asked, ‘Amitabh, can I borrow some money from you? I don’t have money to make a phone call!’” Amitabh marveled at Tata's humility despite his immense success.

Ratan Tata’s life had a deep effect on many, with his humility shining not just in business but also in personal connections. Leading the Tata Group for two decades, Tata's legacy spanned sectors from salt to software.
